Dutch PM Rutte: Netherlands will go into lockdown from Sunday

 The lockdown is going to be partial according to the Dutch Government



The Netherlands will enter a new lockdown beginning Sunday morning to try to reduce COVID-19 infections caused by the Omicron coronavirus type, Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced on Saturday.


"The Netherlands is once again closing down. That is inescapable due to the fifth wave, which is approaching us with the Omicron variety "Rutte stated during a press conference.

In the city center of Nijmegen, Netherlands, people  are expected to conduct their Christmas shopping ahead of the Dutch government's expected declaration of a "strict" Christmas shutdown to combat the spread of the Omicron coronavirus type.
